Curry powder, a blend of spices popular in Indian cuisine, usually includes cayenne pepper, coriander, cumin, fenugreek and turmeric. Some manufacturers also include garlic, ginger, caraway, cardamom and other spices. The mixture consists a nicely pungent spicy taste. However turmeric is the most interest ingredient because it contains curcumin.

細胞凋亡
為一種細胞程序性死亡。相對於細胞壞死(necrosis),細胞凋亡是細胞主動實施的。細胞凋亡一般由生理或病理性因素引起。而細胞壞死則主要為缺氧造成,兩者可以很容易通過觀察區分開來。在細胞凋亡過程中,細胞縮小,DNA被核酸內切酶降解成180bp-200bp片段屬於有層次之斷裂,(可以通過凝膠電泳證明),而細胞壞死時,細胞腫脹,細胞膜被破壞,通透性改變。細胞器散落到細胞間質,需要巨噬細胞去清除,結果是該局部組織發炎。相比起細胞壞死,細胞凋亡是更常見的細胞死亡形式。
